Pokémon Go Launches Winter Holiday Event with New Features
The popular mobile game Pokémon Go is set to celebrate the festive season with its “Winter Holiday Part 2” event, scheduled to run from December 24 to 29, 2025. This event introduces the coal Pokémon, Rolycoly, along with a host of bonuses and increased chances of encountering special Pokémon.
During this holiday-themed event, players can expect “event-themed” Pokémon to reward various items when caught. These items include Fast TMs, Charged TMs, Silver Pinap Berries, Golden Razz Berries, and Rare Candy. Additionally, players will have a higher likelihood of encountering shiny versions of both the costumed Stantler and Dedenne.
The existing Go Pass: Winter Holiday 2025 remains active throughout the event. Players can continue to rank up and enjoy various bonuses, such as doubled XP for sending gifts, extra items from gifts, and a 50% increase in XP from raid battles. Those who purchase the premium version of the pass will also benefit from doubled Stardust from gifts, halved egg hatch distances, and increased XP from catching Pokémon.
Field Research Tasks and Rewards
As part of the Winter Holiday event, players can complete specific Field Research tasks by spinning PokéStops. The tasks and their associated rewards include:
– Catch 10 Pokémon: 1,500 Stardust
– Catch 15 Pokémon: Encounter with either Pikachu (festive hat) or Pikachu (holiday attire)
– Send 15 gifts to friends: Encounter with Psyduck (holiday)
– Send 5 gifts to friends: Encounter with Delibird
These tasks encourage community engagement and provide opportunities to catch limited-time Pokémon.
Boosted Spawns and Egg Hatches
According to a blog post by Niantic, several Pokémon will have boosted spawn rates during the event. Players can expect to see more of the following Pokémon:
– Galarian Darumaka
– Dedenne (holiday attire)
– Bergmite
– Rolycoly
– Cetoddle
Additionally, players have reported sightings of other Pokémon, including Stantler (holiday) and Delibird (holiday), with an increased chance of encountering their shiny forms.
Egg hatches during the event will also feature a selection of Pokémon from 7 km eggs. These include:
– Pichu (festive hat)
– Smoochum
– Cubchoo (holiday ribbon)
– Cryogonal
– Snom
Similar to the boosted spawns, several of these Pokémon have an increased chance of hatching shiny.
Raid Targets During the Event
The Winter Holiday event will also bring changes to the raid schedule. Players can look forward to the following Pokémon as raid targets:
**One-star raids:**
– Alolan Sandshrew
– Galarian Mr. Mime
– Galarian Darumaka
– Sudowoodo (holiday attire)
**Three-star raids:**
– Rolycoly
– Charjabug (holiday attire)
This event offers an exciting opportunity for players to engage in raids and capture exclusive Pokémon.
With the “Winter Holiday Part 2” event, Pokémon Go continues to provide players with new features and opportunities to enhance their gaming experience during the festive season.
