Peaches Kicks Off World Tour in Orlando with New Album Release
Canadian electroclash artist Peaches, born Merrill Nisker, will launch her world tour in Orlando on February 21, 2026, marking the debut of her latest album, No Lube So Rude. This performance promises to showcase her signature blend of provocative and body-positive themes, reflecting her evolution over a decade spent focusing on visual and performance arts.
Since her impactful entrance into the music scene with the 2000 album The Teaches of Peaches, Nisker has established herself as a pioneering figure in queer and sexually transgressive music. Her new album, her first in ten years, continues this exploration of bodily autonomy, explicit sexuality, and the celebration of desire, challenging societal norms surrounding aging and femininity.
The album opens with the track “Hanging Titties,” which boldly proclaims that joy and confidence do not diminish with age. Nisker articulates this sentiment with candor, saying, “You hear all these songs about, like, ‘My titties are cute and they’re perky,’ and I’m like, ‘Mine hang and you love that.’” This unapologetic attitude is a hallmark of Peaches’ work, inviting her audience to embrace their own bodies without shame.
Embracing Identity and Politics in Music
Peaches’ album art continues to play a significant role in her artistic message. The cover of No Lube So Rude pays homage to her earlier works while presenting a raw, visceral aesthetic that complements her music. The album challenges prevailing taboos around aging and sexuality, with songs like “Panna Cotta Delight” emphasizing that desire persists beyond the years typically celebrated by mainstream culture.
In her lyrics, Peaches does not shy away from addressing pressing political issues. The song “Fuck How You Wanna Fuck” directly criticizes Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and his influence in overturning Roe v. Wade. Nisker often reflects on the intersection of personal agency and political expression, asserting that her music champions human rights rather than merely serving a political agenda. “I want equal pay for everybody,” she states. “I want people to all have their human rights. That’s just humanity.”
The vibrancy of Peaches’ work is coupled with a focus on joy and energy, essential elements for resilience in the face of adversity. “I want people to be aware and in touch with everything that’s going on,” she explains. “But I want to bring joy to it and understanding in a way that we can go through this and still have a smile.”
A Tour of Sustainable Artistry
As she prepares for the upcoming tour, Nisker emphasizes sustainability in her artistry. Her team is creatively repurposing costumes sourced from an opera clearance sale, showcasing Peaches’ commitment to both artistic expression and environmental consciousness. “We were being very sustainable and also just using the tools that were already there,” she notes.
While Nisker will not be touring with a full band, she plans to incorporate analog equipment and dancers to enhance the immersive experience for her audience. “I want you to enjoy your bodily autonomy,” she conveys. “I want you to feel creative. I want you to feel alive.”
Peaches aims to create an engaging atmosphere for her diverse fan base, spanning multiple generations. She believes in the power of live performances to foster connections and shared experiences. “I think people my age really have this experience of being in rooms together,” she reflects, emphasizing the importance of intergenerational dialogue through art.
In her music and performances, Nisker seeks to inspire joy and self-acceptance. “There’s no revolution if there’s no joy,” she concludes. “You need to bring the joy, or else if you’re just bringing the anger, that’s what they want.” Through her work, Peaches invites her fans to embrace their authentic selves while actively engaging in the broader discourse surrounding human rights and personal empowerment.
