Party Fight in Chesterton Leads to Jail for Two Hosts

UPDATE: A violent altercation at a party in Chesterton has resulted in the arrest of two hosts, Keshawn Lamar Stephens, 27, and Tiffany Amber Wilfong, 30. Both individuals now face serious felony charges following their chaotic Friday night on December 20, 2023.

According to official reports, the couple’s party took a dark turn when witnesses observed Stephens striking Wilfong multiple times in the head and face. The incident escalated after a 911 hang-up call alerted the Chesterton Police to the residence located in the 900 block of S. 19th Street. Initially, Wilfong denied needing assistance, but shortly after, she called police again, claiming she had stabbed Stephens in self-defense as he bear-hugged her and refused to leave.

Police were immediately dispatched back to the scene, where they found a disturbing trail of blood leading them to an upstairs bathroom. There, officers discovered Stephens hiding in a bathtub. He was treated at the scene and subsequently transported to a local hospital before joining Wilfong at the Porter County Jail.

Authorities confirmed both hosts face multiple charges, including Level 5 and Level 6 felonies for domestic battery and a Level 6 felony for neglect of a dependent, as a minor was present during the incident. Additionally, Stephens has been charged with a misdemeanor for invasion of privacy, violating a court order that prohibited him from contacting Wilfong.

Wilfong has posted a $1,500 bond for her release, while Stephens remains in custody. This incident raises alarming questions about domestic violence and public safety, particularly with a child present during the altercation.
