Remembering Michael Anthony Ortega: A Legacy of Love and Family
Michael Anthony Ortega passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his daughters. A lifelong resident of the Harbor Area, he was born on March 2, 1956, to Trinidad “Trino” Ortega and Dolores “Lola” Ortega. His departure marks a profound loss for his family and all who knew him.
Ortega is survived by his children: daughters Charmaine Morales (Armando) and Helani Ortega Godinez (Danny), along with his son, Michael Ortega. He leaves a remarkable legacy through his 15 grandchildren, which include Valerie (Jason), Veronica (Michael), Victoria (Vance), and many others. Additionally, he was a proud grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren, a testament to the deep family ties he fostered throughout his life.
Family and Community Impact
The impact of Michael Ortega’s life extended beyond his immediate family. Known for his kindness and dedication, he was also survived by his siblings, including Diane (David), Andie (Jesse), Tricia (Donna), Gabe, and Chris, along with numerous nieces and nephews. His presence was felt in every corner of his community, where he was cherished for his warm spirit and generosity.
Michael’s family expressed their deep sorrow at his passing, noting that he will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him. His influence and the values he instilled in his children and grandchildren will undoubtedly carry on.
Ortega was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathy. The family is grateful for the support they have received during this difficult time and invite those who wish to pay their respects to remember the joy and love Michael brought into their lives.
