The Stout House Launches New Two-Story Bar in San Antonio

The Stout House is set to expand its presence in the San Antonio area with the opening of a new two-story bar and eatery at 109 West Grayson. This marks the brand’s eighth location and has already generated significant buzz on social media. The anticipated opening is scheduled for spring 2024, near the well-known Pearl Brewery area, although it will not be classified as a Pearl establishment.

Owner Doug Ackerly highlighted the financial advantages of this location, stating, “Because I don’t lease from the Pearl, I don’t have to charge Pearl prices.” This approach aims to create a more accessible pricing structure that appeals to a broader customer base.

Beer Offerings and Food Concepts

The new Stout House location will continue the brand’s tradition of diverse beer selections, featuring 20 draft beers, including at least five unique craft options alongside popular domestic and craft varieties. Ackerly emphasized the importance of catering to customers with two distinct food concepts, which will complement the extensive beer offerings.

He stated, “The whole point of those two concepts is to really service my customers, obviously they’ll do very well there too, and they’ll have a huge to-go community as well.” The two food concepts will consist of a burger menu and a pizza menu, designed to enhance the overall dining experience.

The venue will also boast a spacious backyard area, accommodating 25 guests, where Ackerly plans to install a large projector screen for entertainment purposes. This feature aims to create a vibrant atmosphere for patrons to enjoy.

Ackerly expressed enthusiasm for the new location, inviting the community to experience what The Stout House has to offer. Although there were attempts to engage with the two new owners for further insights into their plans, details remain limited at this time.
