K-State Extension Launches “Crop Talk” Online Series for Farmers
The K-State Research and Extension is set to host its online agronomy series, “Crop Talk,” beginning on February 10, 2025, and running through March 10, 2025. The series will focus on critical topics relevant to crop producers in the North Central and Northwest regions of Kansas.
Each session will take place on Tuesdays, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will feature presentations by K-State Extension faculty. These experts aim to enhance management strategies for local farmers, providing them with reliable information to address production challenges.
Topics and Engagement Opportunities
The series promises a comprehensive lineup of discussions, including “Understanding Flex Leases,” “Available Soil Water at Planting and Related Management,” as well as updates on “Wheat Conditions and Breeding Efforts on Mosaic Viruses.” Additionally, participants will learn about “Fungicide Applications in Corn and Sorghum” and “Insects to Watch for in the Field.”
Each session will conclude with a Q&A segment, allowing Kansas crop producers to engage directly with extension specialists. This interaction is designed to foster a collaborative environment where farmers can address specific concerns and learn from experts in the field.
Registration is available online at www.bit.ly/KSUCropTalk or by contacting local Extension Offices. After registering, participants will receive links to the webinars via email for all five sessions, accessible through Zoom and YouTube.
Continuing Education and Support
For those seeking professional development, Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) credits have been applied for, with participants earning one credit for each session attended. For further information regarding the K-State Extension NW and NC Agronomy Series, individuals can reach out to their local county or district extension office.
