Urgent: Border Patrol Shooting in Minneapolis Leaves Suspect Down
BREAKING: A shooting involving a Border Patrol agent has just occurred in Minneapolis, leaving a suspect reported “down.” The incident took place near 26th Street W and Nicollet Ave early this morning, just 17 days after a previous shooting by an ICE agent that resulted in the death of Renee Good.
The City of Minneapolis confirmed awareness of the situation via a post on their official X account, urging residents to “remain calm and avoid the immediate area.” Officials are actively working to gather more details about this latest incident, which raises significant concerns about federal law enforcement activity in the area.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin has cited multiple law enforcement sources indicating that a Border Patrol agent fired the shot. Medics are currently on the scene attending to the suspect, although no information about their identity or the circumstances leading up to the shooting has been released.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has provided a photograph of a firearm, believed to have been in the possession of the suspect, to the Daily Caller News Foundation. Reports indicate that the gun has been recovered by federal agents, suggesting an armed confrontation.
In a swift reaction to the shooting, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz expressed outrage on X, stating, “I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.”
The City of Minneapolis has yet to provide further comments, referring inquiries to their earlier statements. This incident adds to growing tensions surrounding federal law enforcement’s presence in Minnesota, especially following the recent fatal shooting involving ICE agents.
Developments are ongoing, with updates expected as authorities work to clarify the situation. Residents are advised to stay tuned for further information and exercise caution in the area.
