In her new capacity, Councilwoman Spears will work closely with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and military officials to advance critical military initiatives and address community impacts. She expressed her enthusiasm for the role, stating, “Serving as Tri-Chair allows for early engagement and ensures our city remains a strong and reliable partner to those who serve,” as reported by the City of San Antonio.

Enhancing Military Collaboration

Councilwoman Spears’ appointment aims to coordinate efforts between San Antonio, military leaders, and local stakeholders. The task force is designed to support military families while contributing to the region’s economic growth. Notably, Joint Base San Antonio has a significant economic impact, contributing over $55 billion to the local economy.

Spears emphasized the importance of collaboration, saying, “This work is about partnership and preparation.” The task force will focus on planning and cooperation to ensure that San Antonio remains well-equipped to support military families and maintain its strong ties to the military community.

The Military Transformation Task Force will not only address current military needs but also look to the future, ensuring that San Antonio continues to be a leader in military engagement.
