Quarterback Beau Pribula Transfers to Virginia After Six Visits
College football has seen significant movement following the recent opening of the NCAA transfer portal. Among the notable developments, quarterback Beau Pribula has finalized his decision to transfer to Virginia after a series of visits to six different institutions. This marks a pivotal moment for the Cavaliers as they seek to bolster their offense following the NCAA’s denial of Chandler Morris for an additional year of eligibility.
Pribula’s decision comes on the heels of extensive exploration in the transfer market. During his visits, he toured several programs, including Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Washington, and Tennessee. His journey included a notable visit to Nebraska during a time of transition, as the Cornhuskers shifted their focus from Kenny Minchey to Anthony Colandrea.
Pribula’s College Career and Impact at Virginia
In his previous season at Missouri, Pribula stepped into the starting role after an injury sidelined starting quarterback Sam Horn. During his time on the field, he delivered impressive statistics across ten appearances, completing 182 of 270 passes for 1,941 yards, along with 11 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also added 95 carries for 297 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns. Pribula’s performance peaked in a game against Kansas, where he completed 30 of 39 passes for 334 yards, leading to a 42-31 victory.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 212 pounds, Pribula began his collegiate journey at Penn State, where he was recruited as a three-star prospect in 2022. Over 24 appearances with the Nittany Lions, he recorded 424 passing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.
As Pribula prepares for his final season at Virginia, he aims to make an impact with the program that reached the 2025 ACC Championship and faced Missouri in the Gator Bowl, a matchup the Cavaliers won 13-7. Although Pribula did not play in that game due to his transfer decision, his presence on the team is anticipated to strengthen their offensive lineup.
Future Considerations and the Transfer Landscape
While Pribula is committed to Virginia, it is essential to note that until he officially signs, there remains a possibility of further changes, especially given the fluid nature of college football transfers. Several other programs, including Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech, continue to scout for quarterbacks as the transfer portal remains a hotbed of activity.
Pribula is currently ranked as the No. 15 quarterback in the transfer portal by 247Sports, reflecting his potential and the interest he garnered from various programs. As college football evolves, the dynamics of player movement present both challenges and opportunities for teams navigating the competitive landscape.
