Four Juveniles Arrested in New Castle for Alleged Vehicle Thefts
Four teenagers were arrested early on October 28, 2025, in connection with a series of alleged vehicle thefts in New Castle, Delaware. The arrests were made by patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police, who responded to reports of juveniles attempting to open car doors in the Eden Park Gardens neighborhood shortly after midnight.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered an unoccupied Kia Sorento parked on Albany Avenue with a broken window. As police approached, the suspects fled on foot, leading to multiple pursuits through the neighborhood. Ultimately, four individuals were taken into custody without incident.
Investigation Yields Tools and Stolen Vehicle
During the investigation, authorities recovered several tools, gloves, and headlamps believed to be used in the attempted thefts. They also determined that the Kia Sorento had been stolen from Wilmington, with another vehicle—a second Kia—found nearby, also displaying signs of damage.
The suspects, three males aged 14 and one male aged 16, all hailing from Wilmington, face multiple charges. These include attempted theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, conspiracy in the second degree, resisting arrest, and criminal mischief. Investigators suspect that this group may be linked to additional thefts or attempted thefts in the area.
Community Encouraged to Report Incidents
Residents who notice vehicle damage or possess surveillance footage of the incidents are urged to contact the New Castle County Division of Police at (302) 573-2800 or the Criminal Investigations Unit at (302) 395-8110. Anonymous tips can be submitted via Delaware Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The investigation into the alleged vehicle thefts is ongoing, and police continue to seek information from the community.
