Multiple conservative figures are expressing intentions to refuse tax payments in 2026 due to ongoing reports of fraud in Minnesota. This sentiment has gained traction on the social media platform X, particularly following a video posted by YouTuber and independent journalist Nick Shirley. Shirley’s investigation into various daycare centers in Minneapolis revealed many of these facilities appeared vacant during business hours, raising concerns about the legitimacy of the federal funding they receive.

This issue extends beyond childcare, as Minnesota is facing a broader investigation into fraud. Numerous individuals, including members of the Somali community, have been accused, charged, or convicted of misappropriating government funds intended for programs such as child nutrition and housing assistance.

In a post on X, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, articulated the frustration among her supporters. “Almost every Trump voter I see on X is so fed up they are planning a 2026 tax revolt,” she stated. Greene emphasized that hardworking Americans are upset over their tax dollars being allocated to foreign aid and domestic issues that they believe do not benefit them.

Conservative commentator Graham Allen also voiced his stance, asserting that citizens should withhold tax payments until government corruption is addressed. “THE WHOLE COUNTRY SHOULD STOP PAYING TAXES UNTIL THE CORRUPTION ENDS!!” he declared in a post. His message resonated with many who feel that the current system is failing them.

Another prominent voice in this discussion is Savanah Hernandez, a contributor to Turning Point USA. She announced her decision not to pay taxes, citing a desire to highlight what she views as governmental mismanagement. “F— it, I’m not paying taxes this year,” Hernandez wrote. She further condemned the government’s handling of funds and expressed her frustration over prioritization of aid for undocumented immigrants over American citizens.

Responses from users on X indicate a growing support for the tax revolt. One follower expressed agreement with Hernandez, stating, “I am fully supporting Americans not paying taxes this year or any other year until we see arrests made, funds being utilized properly, and fraud being rooted out.”

The situation in Minnesota illustrates a broader discontent among some conservative groups with how taxpayer money is utilized. As allegations of fraud continue to surface, the potential for a significant tax revolt could shape political discussions leading up to the 2026 elections.
