Washington Lands Twin Linebacker Commitments, Colorado Signs Cornerback
BREAKING: The recruiting landscape shifts dramatically as the Washington Huskies secure twin linebacker commitments from Ethan and Justin Coach, while the Colorado Buffaloes land their first recruit for the 2027 class. This urgent update reveals key developments that could reshape college football rosters.
In a stunning turn of events earlier today, the Coach twins, renowned for their prowess at Southern California powerhouse St. John Bosco, have committed to Washington, boosting the Huskies’ recruiting class to No. 12 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten. This commitment is particularly significant as the twins become the first California recruits in UW’s 2027 class, following their decision to join Idaho linebacker Titus Osterman.
The twins, who claimed they would not be a package deal, surprised many by choosing the same school. Their commitment adds to Washington’s already impressive track record with St. John Bosco players, including Pro Bowler Trent McDuffie of the Kansas City Chiefs. Linebackers coach Brian Odom celebrates these additions as critical to the team’s future.
Meanwhile, Colorado has also made headlines, securing Davon Dericho, a three-star cornerback from Miami, as their first verbal commitment for the 2027 recruiting class. Dericho, a top 60 player at his position, cited the chance to play for legendary cornerback and head coach Deion Sanders as a key factor in his decision. He turned down offers from notable programs like Florida State and Pitt, highlighting the impact Sanders has on attracting talent.
In further developments, three of the top receivers from Chaparral High School in Temecula, California, have made commitments to prominent Pac-12 schools. Following teammate Michael Farinas‘ commitment to UCLA, Tycen Johnson has opted for Arizona State, while Eli Woodard will join USC—an impressive feat for the Southern California talent pool.
Also noteworthy is the recruitment of Gunnar Perry, who follows in the footsteps of his older brother, Cooper Perry, a former Oregon receiver. After entering the transfer portal, Cooper’s move to Cal opened the door for Gunnar, who committed to the Bears just weeks after receiving an offer from head coach Tosh Lupoi.
As the recruiting cycle heats up, these commitments indicate a shift in power dynamics within college football. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely as the impact of these decisions unfolds throughout the upcoming season.
