URGENT: Trump Announces Capture of Maduro in Military Strike
BREAKING: In a shocking military operation, the United States conducted a rapid strike on October 7, 2023, capturing Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. The operation unfolded in the early hours in Caracas, with explosions ringing out and military targets struck within a brief 30-minute window.
American officials confirmed that Maduro and Flores have been taken to the U.S., where they will face narco-terrorism charges in federal court. The lightning strike was marked by at least seven explosions, with significant damage reported at military installations in the capital. Smoke billowed from a military base hangar as low-flying aircraft executed the operation.
During a press conference, President Donald Trump reiterated the necessity of the operation, emphasizing, “Congress has a tendency to leak. This would NOT be good. If they leaked, it would’ve been a very different result!” This statement underscores the administration’s concern over potential leaks that could compromise national security.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth described the mission as critical, using the acronym “FAFO” to convey the seriousness of the situation. However, the decision to bypass congressional notification has sparked significant backlash from Democratic leaders.
Senator Chuck Schumer, the Senate Minority Leader, called the military action “reckless,” claiming, “The administration has assured me three separate times that it was not pursuing regime change or taking military action in Venezuela.” Meanwhile, Representative Gregory Meeks expressed frustration that he learned about the operation through media reports, stating he received “no briefing or heads up.”
Democratic leaders, including Senator Andy Kim from New Jersey, have criticized the lack of adherence to constitutional protocols. Kim stated, “Trump rejected our Constitutionally required approval process for armed conflict because the Administration knows the American people overwhelmingly reject risks pulling our nation into another war.”
As tensions rise, the implications of this military action will be closely monitored. Critics are questioning the legality and potential ramifications of executing such a high-stakes operation without congressional oversight.
In the coming days, the focus will shift to how this operation affects U.S.-Venezuela relations and the broader geopolitical landscape in Latin America. With the stakes higher than ever, all eyes are on Washington as the fallout continues to unfold.
