Timothy Busfield Turns Himself In Amid Child Abuse Charges
UPDATE: Actor and director Timothy Busfield has just turned himself in to authorities in Albuquerque, New Mexico, facing serious child sex abuse charges. This urgent development follows an arrest warrant issued on Friday for two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and one count of child abuse, stemming from allegations related to his work on the TV series “The Cleaning Lady.”
According to court documents, the allegations involve inappropriate touching of a young boy on set. The investigation began in November 2024 after a doctor reported concerns to Child Protective Services. The alleged incidents occurred between November 2022 and spring 2024, with one boy stating he was only 7 years old when Busfield reportedly touched him multiple times.
Busfield, known for his roles in “The West Wing” and “Thirtysomething,” denied the allegations during a previous interview, suggesting they may stem from the boys’ mother seeking revenge after her children were replaced on the show. He described the set as a playful environment where he may have interacted with the boys in a non-threatening manner.
In a video obtained by TMZ, Busfield expressed his determination to confront the accusations, stating, “I’m going to confront these lies. They’re horrible. They’re all lies.” He drove over 2,000 miles to Albuquerque to address the charges.
The allegations also involve the twin brother of the victim, who reportedly experienced similar unwanted contact but did not specify the details. He expressed fear of repercussions from Busfield if he spoke out. The complaint indicates that the boys’ mother sought medical attention for her children, leading to the investigation.
One of the twins has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety, suffering from nightmares related to the alleged incidents. A spokesperson for the Albuquerque Police Department confirmed that Busfield is currently in custody, with the investigation ongoing.
This shocking news raises serious questions about the safety of child actors in the industry and the responsibilities of those in positions of power. As more details emerge, the public watches closely for updates on this developing case.
The series “The Cleaning Lady,” produced by Warner Bros., aired for four seasons before concluding in 2025. The company reportedly conducted its own investigation into the allegations but found no corroborating evidence. As this case unfolds, the community and the entertainment world remain deeply affected by these serious accusations.
