Tech YouTuber Uses $4,999 Robot Snow Blower Amid Winter Storm
UPDATE: A tech YouTuber has turned heads this winter by utilizing a $4,999 autonomous snow blower during the ongoing Winter Storm Fern, allowing him to stay cozy inside while the robot tackled snow removal.
As over 250 million Americans cope with heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures this weekend, Tom Moloughney from New Jersey shared his experience with the Yarbo Snow Blower on social media, showcasing the futuristic solution to a common winter problem.
Moloughney, a certified tech enthusiast and host of the State of Charge YouTube channel, documented the 230-pound robot clearing his driveway, which spans 6,000 sq.ft., from the comfort of his home. “Winter Storm Fern has descended upon NJ this morning and my @yarboglobal autonomous snow blower went into action,” he tweeted on January 25, 2026. “I’m inside sipping a coffee while it’s doing its job.”
The Yarbo Snow Blower can throw snow more than 40 feet and handle up to 12 inches of snow, offering a modern alternative to traditional snow removal methods. While more than six inches of snow fell in Moloughney’s town within a mere 24 hours, the autonomous snow blower operated efficiently, returning to its charging pad when its battery ran low.
As the storm raged, Moloughney updated viewers about the robot’s performance. “It will continue to do that until the driveway is completely done twice,” he assured his followers, highlighting the convenience of watching the machine work while enjoying a warm drink.
However, the road to snow-free driveways is not without its challenges. Moloughney noted that extensive digital setup was required before the storm and that the robot struggled with GPS connectivity in some areas. During a previous storm, hail had created an icy surface that the robot was unable to clear.
Despite these setbacks, Moloughney praised the robot’s endurance, stating it “worked through the night as the final flakes fell,” adding that its performance was “kicking ass.”
This innovative approach to snow removal has sparked interest online, with many viewers eager to see how technology can change everyday tasks. The Yarbo Snow Blower’s ability to operate in temperatures as low as -13 degrees Fahrenheit positions it as a potential game-changer for winter weather management.
As more regions brace for severe winter storms, Moloughney’s experience may inspire others to consider robotic solutions for snow removal. For those looking to stay warm while their driveways are cleared, the Yarbo Snow Blower could be the answer they’ve been waiting for.
Stay tuned for more updates as technology and winter weather continue to collide in remarkable ways.
