Paul Mohror Declares Candidacy for Fargo School Board Election

URGENT UPDATE: Paul Mohror has officially declared his candidacy for one of five positions on the Fargo Public Schools Board of Education. The announcement was made earlier today, February 23, and he becomes the first candidate to file for the upcoming election scheduled for June 9, 2024.

This development is significant as the Fargo school board plays a crucial role in shaping educational policies and fiscal management for the district. Mohror, a resident of Fargo for 23 years and a father to two graduates of Fargo North High School, expressed his commitment to enhancing academic proficiency while ensuring responsible budgeting.

“I’m running for school board to help ensure thoughtful decision‐making, transparency, understanding, and a strong focus on student success,” Mohror stated in a news release. His experience as the Republican chairman for District 21 highlights his active involvement in local governance.

Board positions currently held by Melissa Burkland, Katie Christensen Mineer, Greg Clark, Nyamal Dei, and Robin Nelson are up for grabs, with terms lasting four years. Candidate applications for the election will be accepted until 4 p.m. on April 6, 2024.

Additionally, an information session for prospective candidates will be held at 5:30 p.m. on March 3, 2024, in the board room at the District Office, located at 700 Seventh St. S., Fargo. This session aims to educate potential candidates about the responsibilities and expectations of school board members.
