K-Pop Ships Surge on AO3: Top Pairings Revealed for 2025
New reports confirm that K-Pop fandoms are making waves on the fanworks site AO3 (Archive Of Our Own) in 2025, with rankings of ship pairings just announced. The list reveals the K-Pop ships that have dominated fan creations this year, showcasing a surge in creativity and engagement among fans.
UPDATE: The top K-Pop ship for 2025 is Stray Kids’ Han and Lee Know, who have amassed an astonishing 5,341 new works this year, pushing their overall total to 123,778 fanworks. This pairing, known as MinSung, has jumped from 19th overall last year to a remarkable 12th place in the latest rankings.
In a developing trend, HUNTR/X’s Mira, Rumi, and Zoey have made history as a polyamorous pairing, ranking 2nd among K-Pop ships and 14th overall with 3,122 fanworks published in 2025. This innovative pairing reflects the evolving dynamics within K-Pop fandoms.
3rd place features a groundbreaking cross-group pairing: Saja Boys’ Jinu and HUNTR/X’s Rumi, who collectively attracted 3,103 fan works since their introduction this year. Their placement at 30th overall marks a significant moment in fan culture, as fans embrace collaborations between different groups.
ATEEZ continues to shine with multiple entries on the list. Yunho and Mingi (YunGi) ranked 7th in K-Pop and 100th overall, accumulating 1,492 new works for a grand total of 5,686. In addition, Hongjoong and Seonghwa (SeongJoong) placed 4th among K-Pop ships with 2,626 new works, bringing their total to 10,799.
SEVENTEEN’s popular pairing of Wonwoo and Mingyu (Meanie or MinWon) slipped to 5th place in K-Pop but still showcased impressive numbers with 1,861 new works, totaling 8,818 fanworks overall. This reflects a vibrant interest in their storylines among fans.
HUNTR/X’s Mira and Zoey also made a notable impact, ranking 6th with 1,831 fanworks, highlighting the group’s growing influence in the K-Pop fan community.
The latest rankings from AO3 illustrate not only the popularity of these K-Pop groups but also the deep emotional connections fans forge with their favorite characters. As the landscape of K-Pop fandom evolves, these pairings resonate on a personal level, showcasing creativity and community engagement.
