URGENT UPDATE: Goodwill is set to open a brand new outlet store in South Mississippi on January 8, 2026, offering shoppers a unique opportunity to find incredible bargains for just a few cents! This outlet, located next to the existing Gulfport store, promises a shopping experience unlike any traditional Goodwill retail shop.

Shoppers will have the chance to rummage through large bins filled with assorted items, including clothing, accessories, and household goods—all sold by weight rather than individual prices. This innovative model allows prices to plummet, with some items costing mere cents, making it an affordable shopping haven for all.

“Every visit will uncover something new,” said Katie Myers, marketing manager for Goodwill of South Mississippi. Merchandise will be rotated throughout the day, ensuring shoppers can discover “hidden gems” and “incredible bargains” with every visit. This initiative gives the community another way to shop sustainably, save money, and support local job training programs.

The grand opening is just around the corner, and after the debut, the outlet will operate from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, remaining closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Vicki Burton, President and CEO of Goodwill of South Mississippi, emphasizes the community impact:

“Every purchase made at our outlet helps fund job training, employment programs, and career services for individuals right here in South Mississippi.”

This means shoppers are not just finding deals—they’re also contributing to workforce development efforts in their area.

This expansion is part of Goodwill’s broader strategy for 2026, which includes revamping existing stores and launching new locations. The company aims to enhance customer experience with modern renovations featuring exposed ceilings, improved lighting, and concrete floors.

Goodwill also plans to target wealthier neighborhoods for new store openings, hoping to attract affluent donors who can provide high-quality merchandise. Dan Owen, CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Summit in West Virginia, highlighted the potential for shoppers to find luxury brands at bargain prices:

“When people can find Dior out on a rack in your store for seven, eight bucks, that’s a great deal.”

Additionally, Goodwill is leveraging social media to engage younger audiences. The organization is focusing on platforms like Instagram and TikTok to showcase the thrift shopping experience, tapping into the influence of Gen Z who are driving the thrifting trend.

What to Expect Next: As the grand opening approaches, locals and thrift enthusiasts are buzzing with anticipation. This new outlet not only represents a fresh shopping option but also signifies Goodwill’s commitment to community support and sustainable shopping practices.

The countdown to January 8 is on! Don’t miss your chance to explore this new outlet and uncover fantastic deals while supporting vital community programs. Share this exciting news and spread the word about Goodwill’s latest venture!
