Forest Ridge Park Launches Wilderness Navigation Classes Now!

UPDATE: Forest Ridge Park in Raleigh is set to revolutionize outdoor adventures with its newly announced wilderness navigation classes! Starting on January 15, these essential courses aim to equip participants with vital skills for safe and confident hiking.

With the increasing popularity of outdoor activities, this program addresses the urgent need for navigation knowledge. Participants aged 14 and up will learn map and compass fundamentals, ensuring they can confidently traverse through any landscape—be it a dense forest or an open desert.

Classes will take place on select Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with upcoming sessions scheduled for February 12, March 10, and April 16. Attendees are encouraged to bring their enthusiasm, a water bottle, and appropriate hiking attire, while all necessary navigation equipment will be provided on site.
