UPDATE: In a thrilling clash, the No. 22 BYU Cougars have snapped their four-game losing streak with a dramatic 99-94 victory over the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas, just moments ago. This win is a significant turnaround for BYU, marking their first victory since January 26, 2026.

Rob Wright III shone brightly in his return to Foster Pavilion, scoring a career-high 30 points along with four rebounds and three assists. His performance, combined with freshman sensation AJ Dybantsa’s explosive 36 points, marks the first time since January 14, 1984, that two BYU players have scored 30 points in a single game.

The Cougars outperformed the Bears in the paint, scoring 64 points to Baylor’s 40, and capitalized on turnovers, netting 24 points from 13 turnovers. Dybantsa ignited the second half with a powerful start, leading BYU on a 13-2 run that pushed them ahead by six early in the half.

Baylor, led by Tounde Yessoufou’s impressive 37 points, initially surged ahead, shooting an incredible 75% from the field in the opening minutes. However, the Bears struggled to maintain their lead as BYU’s defense adjusted, ultimately allowing the Cougars to rally back and claim victory.

With this win, BYU not only ends their losing streak but also re-establishes their momentum in the Big 12 Conference. The Cougars are now looking ahead to their next matchup, aiming to build on this much-needed success.
