Beach Teams Secure Victories in January 12 High School Basketball
Local high school basketball teams showcased their talents on January 12, 2026, with notable performances leading to significant victories. The Beach Buccaneers ended their three-game losing streak with a decisive win over Wibaux, while Flasher edged out New England in a closely contested match.
Beach Buccaneers Triumph Over Wibaux
The Beach Buccaneers claimed a convincing victory against Wibaux, finishing the game with a score of 53-34. This win marked a crucial turnaround for the Buccaneers, who had faced challenges in their previous outings. Leading the charge for Beach was Aubrie Dykins, who scored 15 points. Close behind were teammates Maciah Heckaman with 11 points and Mila Szudera, who contributed 10 points.
A strong offensive display included four successful three-point shots, demonstrating the Buccaneers’ improved shooting accuracy. The team will seek to build on this momentum when they face South Heart on the road later this week.
Flasher Edges New England in Thrilling Matchup
In another highlight of the evening, Flasher secured an 82-75 victory against New England. The game was competitive, with New England leading at halftime with a score of 45-39. Jordan Jung was the standout player for New England, scoring 24 points and making six three-pointers. His impressive performance almost guided his team to victory, but Flasher’s depth in scoring proved too much.
Supporting Jung, Gage Madler added 22 points, while Mark Fitterer contributed 18 points. Despite the loss, New England continues to seek additional scoring options beyond their top three players. The team will return to District 7 play on Friday against Richardton-Taylor, hoping to regain their winning form.
As the local high school basketball season unfolds, these matches demonstrate the competitive spirit and talent within the region. Fans can look forward to more exciting games in the coming weeks.
