Arsenal Targets Newcastle’s Livramento as Transfer Window Opens
Arsenal has set its sights on Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento as the club looks to bolster its squad for next season. The 23-year-old full-back has attracted interest not just from Arsenal but also from Manchester City, although the nature of City’s pursuit remains uncertain. Livramento is entering the final two years of his contract with Newcastle, prompting the club to prioritize contract negotiations in the upcoming months. Reports suggest that Newcastle may value the England international at around £60 million.
The transfer speculation comes amid a busy period across European football, with numerous clubs making moves or considering changes as the winter transfer window approaches. Arsenal’s interest in Livramento reflects a broader strategy to strengthen their defense, a position they have focused on during recent transfer windows.
In other news, Ousmane Dembélé of Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly set to reject a lucrative contract extension that would pay him €30 million annually. The forward is seeking a deal that would double that amount, entering the final two years of his current contract. His potential availability could attract attention from clubs throughout Europe.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has communicated to Barcelona his desire to remain with the club beyond the current season. Although no formal agreement has been reached, Barcelona is reportedly pleased with Rashford’s contributions. The Catalan club holds the option to secure the England international’s services permanently from Manchester United for approximately €30 million this summer.
Aston Villa is also active in the transfer market, exploring a potential move for midfielder Conor Gallagher of Atletico Madrid. Gallagher, who previously played for Chelsea, is keen on a return to the Premier League after starting only four La Liga matches this season. Villa is considering a loan agreement that could include a future permanent transfer clause.
In the women’s football sphere, England midfielder Georgia Stanway has announced her departure from Bayern Munich at the end of the season. Stanway, who has earned 87 caps for England, joined Bayern from Manchester City in 2022 and has secured three league titles in Germany. She expressed that her decision to leave was not made lightly, highlighting the friendships and memories formed during her time at the club.
As the transfer window progresses, several other notable rumors and deals are emerging. Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai is reportedly close to extending his contract, turning down interest from Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Additionally, Juventus is looking at Atalanta forward Daniel Maldini as a potential January signing.
Rangers have shown interest in Sunderland duo Dan Neil and Romaine Mundle, while Everton is tracking right-backs Brook Norton-Cuffy of Genoa and Emil Holm of Bologna. In a potential move to reinforce their squad, Al Hilal is nearing a deal for former Arsenal defender Pablo Mari at a fee of €2 million.
As clubs finalize their strategies for the transfer window, fans and analysts alike will be eager to see how these developments unfold in the coming weeks. The winter transfer window always brings surprises, and this year is shaping up to be no different.
