Addison’s Mark Hastings Named Class 1A Coach of the Year

The Addison Bulldogs achieved remarkable success in their first season under head coach Mark Hastings, culminating in his recognition as the Class 1A Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA). The announcement was made on December 20, 2025, following the release of this year’s All-State football team.

Bulldogs’ Stellar Season Highlights

Addison finished the season with an impressive record of 12 wins, marking the most victories for the team since 2016. They secured a region title, their first since 2018, and set a school record with 591 points scored throughout the season. The Bulldogs also made a significant playoff run, advancing to the Class 1A semifinals for the first time in nine years before being defeated by the top-ranked Wadley.

Hastings’ leadership has clearly revitalized the team, and the accolades reflect the hard work and dedication put forth by the players and coaching staff.
