Nostradamus Forecasts Disturbing Events for 2026, Including War
The 16th-century French astrologer Nostradamus is once again capturing attention with his predictions for the coming years, particularly concerning significant events in 2026. His prophetic insights, often expressed in cryptic quatrains, suggest a series of alarming occurrences that could affect global affairs. These predictions, compiled in his 1555 work titled ‘The Prophecies’, consist of 942 quatrains, each open to interpretation.
One of the more striking quatrains alleges, “Seven months great war, people dead through evil/ Rouen, Evreux the King will not fail.” Many interpretations link this verse to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, suggesting that Nostradamus may have foreseen modern warfare. Historical analyses have previously attributed other significant conflicts, including the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, to his writings, particularly the phrase “Within two cities, there will be scourges the like of which was never seen.”
Worrisome Predictions for 2026
Among Nostradamus’ more whimsical forecasts is a line that hints at a large swarm of bees emerging from a nighttime ambush. This particular prediction, linked to the number 26, has raised questions about its true meaning. While some speculate that a literal swarm could wreak havoc, the symbolism behind the bees remains ambiguous.
Another prediction raises eyebrows with its dramatic imagery: “The great man will be struck down in the day by a thunderbolt.” This line, found in the 26th verse of Century I, could refer to a prominent figure—be it a celebrity, a world leader, or a member of royalty—who may face an unexpected calamity in daylight. Whether this foreshadows an incident on a red carpet or in another public setting is anyone’s guess.
Nostradamus also provides a grim outlook for the picturesque Italian-speaking region of Ticino in Switzerland. His ominous quatrain states, “Because of the favour that the city will show… the Ticino will overflow with blood…” This phrase suggests the potential for a mass casualty event or a natural disaster affecting the area.
Skeptics argue that Nostradamus’ writings are inherently ambiguous, crafted in Middle French and often employing intentionally obscure Latin phrases. The existence of multiple manuscripts and variations in spelling over the centuries further complicates interpretations of his work.
Despite the challenges in deciphering his prophecies, the curiosity surrounding Nostradamus continues to thrive. As 2026 approaches, many will be watching closely to see whether his forecasts come to fruition or remain mere historical curiosities.
