StockX Reports Record Sales in 2025, Unveils 2026 Predictions
StockX has announced significant findings from its seventh annual Current Culture Index, revealing that nearly 200 brands achieved all-time sales records in 2025. The report, released on January 12, 2026, highlights the expanding influence of the resale market across various categories, including sneakers, apparel, and collectibles. Greg Schwartz, CEO of StockX, noted that the past year was characterized by diverse standout releases rather than a singular trend. Brands that embraced innovation and formed strategic partnerships saw the most success.
Sneaker Sales Surge as New Players Emerge
Legacy brands like Nike, Jordan, adidas, New Balance, and ASICS continued to dominate the sneaker market. Nike and Jordan experienced a recovery, with average sneaker prices increasing by 5% and 6% year-over-year, respectively. Notably, Mizuno emerged as the fastest-growing sneaker brand, boasting a remarkable 124% sales growth, driven by lifestyle-forward designs such as the MXR and Wave Prophecy Moc. Following closely, Maison Mihara Yasuhiro saw a 91% increase in sales, while brands like Saucony and Salomon also reported substantial growth.
Outside the sneaker segment, comfort and creativity thrived in footwear. UGG retained its position as the top-selling shoe brand, bolstered by new styles like the UGG Zora Ballet Flat. Surprisingly, Nike emerged as the fastest-growing non-sneaker footwear brand, with an impressive 5,811% sales increase, largely due to the popularity of the ReactX Rejuven8 silhouette. The independent label Bravest Studios also made waves, ranking second in growth with a 197% increase, showcasing its unique and playful designs.
Apparel and Collectibles Thrive Through Strategic Collaborations
The report emphasizes the importance of limited supply and strategic collaborations in the apparel sector. Uniqlo ranked as the fastest-growing apparel brand in 2025, with a staggering 667% increase in sales, aided by partnerships with Needles and KAWS. SKIMS also flourished, achieving 196% growth through limited releases and collaborations with notable brands like The North Face and Dolce & Gabbana. Additionally, adidas experienced a 49% boost in apparel sales, supported by its collaboration with Oasis.
In the collectibles market, Pop Mart surpassed LEGO to become the top-traded brand, reflecting the rise of “kidult” culture. Meanwhile, Canon climbed to become the second best-selling electronics brand on StockX, experiencing over 6,000% growth from the previous year, driven by the popularity of the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark III.
The accessories segment also saw remarkable growth, with Sprayground emerging as the only brand featured on both the best-selling and fastest-growing lists, achieving a 287% increase in sales. Louis Vuitton climbed to fourth place among accessories brands, fueled by demand for its Murakami collaboration.
Looking ahead, StockX anticipates that the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup will further influence soccer fashion in the U.S., as brands explore collaborations between sports and streetwear. The Milan Olympics is expected to create additional opportunities for brands to merge athletic and fashion elements.
Bad Bunny is also set for a pivotal year with a highly anticipated Super Bowl halftime performance and the launch of his first fully original adidas signature sneaker.
As StockX enters 2026, Nike is poised for continued growth, driven by innovations in its product lineup and a disciplined release strategy. The company aims to maintain its momentum in performance basketball and capitalize on upcoming global events.
With trading cards expected to sustain their growth and an increasing trend toward re-commerce, consumers are becoming more value-conscious, often prioritizing resale options. StockX’s 2026 Current Culture Index reflects these evolving trends, underscoring the importance of storytelling, scarcity, and community in driving brand success.
