Ecuador’s CNE Transforms Election Communication with EngageLab
SINGAPORE, December 22, 2025 – In a significant advancement for electoral transparency and efficiency, Ecuador’s National Electoral Council (CNE) has adopted EngageLab’s omnichannel communication solution. This strategic move enables the CNE to communicate effectively with thousands of election officials, ensuring real-time coordination during the national election.
Enhancing Communication for Electoral Success
The CNE, which is tasked with organizing and overseeing the electoral process in Ecuador, recognized the need for a reliable communication method to disseminate crucial information swiftly. Given the diverse geography of the country, traditional communication methods such as email and SMS posed challenges, including delays and low open rates. These issues could jeopardize the timely delivery of operational instructions, essential for a smooth election.
To address these challenges, the CNE turned to EngageLab, powered by Aurora Mobile. The platform utilizes the WhatsApp Business API, leveraging the popularity of WhatsApp in Ecuador to ensure that officials receive messages on a familiar and frequently checked application. This integration allows for a centralized, automated communication process that enhances coordination among election officials.
Results and Impact on Electoral Processes
By implementing EngageLab’s solution, the CNE has set a new standard for electoral efficiency. The response from officials has been overwhelmingly positive. Juan Tandu, Administrative Assistant at the CNE, stated, “With EngageLab’s WhatsApp Business API, we can now communicate important updates to our officials quickly and reliably. This has greatly improved our coordination and efficiency during key periods.”
This collaboration illustrates the potential of modern communication technologies to enhance government operations, particularly in mission-critical contexts. The success of this initiative not only improves the CNE’s internal communication strategy but also reinforces the integrity of the electoral process in Ecuador.
EngageLab, as a leading AI-driven platform, has demonstrated its capability in unifying customer engagement and digital security across multiple channels, including AppPush, WebPush, email, SMS, and WhatsApp Business. With a presence in over 220 countries and the ability to process more than 1 million messages per second, EngageLab supports enterprises in enhancing their operational security and communication efficacy.
The partnership between the CNE and EngageLab marks a pivotal moment in Ecuador’s electoral management, showcasing how innovative communication solutions can transform public sector functions for better accountability and efficiency.
