Tombstone Seeks Volunteers for ‘Road To 250’ Museum Event
The City of Tombstone, Arizona, is actively recruiting volunteers for the upcoming ‘Road To 250’ museum event scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2024. This traveling museum will feature interactive exhibits focused on American and Arizona history, including a replica of the iconic Liberty Bell. The event aims to engage the community and visitors alike, showcasing the rich historical context of Tombstone and its contributions to the Old West narrative.
Tombstone’s City Clerk, Charissa Presti, emphasized the need for volunteers to help manage the anticipated influx of visitors. “The reason why we’re asking for volunteers is to ensure that our visitors have the best experience here,” Presti stated. She highlighted that previous municipalities hosting the museum reported thousands of attendees daily, indicating a significant turnout expected for Tombstone as well.
Presti further noted the importance of hosting the museum in a city steeped in history. “We are rich in history, and Tombstone plays a vital role in America’s story,” she explained. By merging the museum’s offerings with the city’s historical significance, Tombstone aims to keep the essence of the Old West alive while celebrating broader American history.
The city invites those interested in volunteering to reach out to Tombstone City Hall at (520) 457-2202. Volunteering provides an opportunity to engage with visitors and share in the celebration of history, making the event a memorable experience for all involved.
As Tombstone prepares for this significant event, city officials are hopeful that community support will enhance the visitor experience and showcase the town’s unique historical heritage. The ‘Road To 250’ museum not only serves as an educational platform but also fosters community involvement and pride in local history.
