Boscawen Community Mourns the Loss of Sandra J. Miner, 76
Community members in Boscawen, New Hampshire, are mourning the passing of Sandra J. Miner, who died on December 16, 2025, after a brave fight against breast cancer. She was 76 years old.
Born on April 5, 1949, in Concord, NH, Sandra was the daughter of Elwyn B. and Annie F. (French) Chamberlin. She spent her early years in Penacook, where she attended local schools, including the Charles Street School and Penacook High School. After graduating, she began her career in public service with the New Hampshire Aeronautics Commission, later working in various local establishments such as J.M. Field’s Snack Bar and Alans of Boscawen Restaurant, where she dedicated over two decades of service.
Community Involvement and Personal Passions
Most recently, Sandra contributed to the Merrimack Valley school district, serving as a snack bar cook at the middle school. Her commitment to the community extended beyond her professional life; she was actively involved with the Torrent Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and held the position of President for several years.
In her personal time, Sandra enjoyed a variety of hobbies that included reading, knitting, and solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Her creative pursuits in crafts reflected her vibrant personality and love for hands-on activities.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard A. Miner Sr., and their two children: son Leonard Miner Jr. and wife Lea of Laconia, and daughter Rebecca Reed and husband Ed of Salisbury. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Allyssa Miner of Cambridge, MA, and Jacob Miner of Haverhill, MA, along with numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Annie Chamberlin, her daughter, Patience Hibbard, and her brother, Stanley Chamberlin of Loudon.
Memorial Arrangements
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, December 20th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, located at 172 King Street in Boscawen. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery on Corn Hill Road in Boscawen.
