The celebrated Irish trio Fódhla will open the 2026 season of the Concerts in West K! series on February 1, 2026. The performance is scheduled from 15:00 to 17:00 at the Dane Street Program Center of the Brick Store Museum in Kennebunk. This marks a significant moment for the series, which has been a cultural staple in the area since its inception in 2015.

Fódhla, comprised of talented musicians Bethany Waickman (guitar), Ellery Klein (fiddle), and Nicole Rabata (flute), is well-regarded within the Boston-Portland acoustic music community. Their connection to Kennebunk runs deep, as they were among the first groups to perform in the series. Audiences can expect a vibrant display of musical artistry, as the trio blends traditional Irish melodies with dynamic performances.

The ensemble’s sound is enriched by the extensive experience of its members. Fiddler Klein and flutist Rabata have both spent significant time in Ireland, absorbing the rich musical traditions of cities such as Cork, Limerick, and Ennis. Waickman’s guitar work complements their tunes, providing inventive harmonies and a driving rhythm that enhances the overall experience. Her skills, honed through years of playing for contradances, bring a unique flavor to the group’s performances.

The Brick Store Museum, located at 117 Main Street, Kennebunk, is adjacent to Kennebunk Town Hall, making it a convenient venue for attendees. The Concerts in West K! series is organized by Mousam River Music in collaboration with the museum.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $25 per person. They can be purchased in advance online at brickstoremuseum.org or at the door on the day of the event. For those interested, unpaid reservations can be made by contacting [email protected].

This concert promises to be an exciting start to the new season, showcasing the talent and energy that Fódhla brings to the stage.
