Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Film Leaves Netflix Soon
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie fans will soon have to say goodbye to their beloved film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, as it is set to leave Netflix on February 1, 2026. This romantic action movie, directed by Doug Liman, will no longer be available for streaming after January 31, 2026. The departure is part of Netflix’s regular content removal schedule, which often occurs at the beginning of each month.
Netflix has announced a list of several high-profile titles scheduled to exit the platform in February 2026. These removals are dictated by licensing agreements that dictate availability. In some cases, Netflix can extend the duration a film remains on the platform or remove it earlier than anticipated. Variations in regional licensing also contribute to differences in availability across various markets.
Originally released in theaters in June 2005, Mr. & Mrs. Smith features Pitt and Jolie as a married couple who secretly work as assassins for competing agencies. The film was distributed by 20th Century Fox and had a reported production budget of $110 million. According to Box Office Mojo, it grossed an impressive $487.3 million worldwide, making it the seventh highest-grossing film of 2005.
Critical reception has been mixed. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 60 percent approval rating based on 209 reviews. Meanwhile, Metacritic gives the film a score of 55 out of 100, indicating average reviews. Audiences awarded the film a “B+” grade on CinemaScore, reflecting a generally positive reception among viewers.
As part of its content strategy, Netflix will remove a variety of titles at the start of February. Alongside Mr. & Mrs. Smith, other significant films including The Terminator, Parasite, Oblivion, and Groundhog Day are also scheduled for removal. The lineup for February includes additional departures throughout the month, with Netflix Originals such as She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Rebellion also set to leave the service.
As the date approaches, viewers are encouraged to catch Mr. & Mrs. Smith before it exits Netflix, ensuring they can enjoy this iconic film featuring two of Hollywood’s biggest stars one last time.
