Bekah Sorensen Reveals Heartbreaking Pregnancy Loss at 40
Influencer Bekah Sorensen has shared the devastating news of her pregnancy loss. On January 9, 2023, the 40-year-old took to Instagram to announce that she and her husband, Skyler Sorensen, lost their baby girl, Kirtland Marah Sorensen. Bekah expressed her emotional journey, revealing that this loss follows two previous miscarriages and years of struggling with secondary infertility.
In her heartfelt post, Bekah recounted the challenges of navigating pregnancy at her age, stating, “Trying again felt vulnerable and scary, especially at 40.” The Mayo Clinic defines secondary infertility as the inability to conceive or carry a pregnancy to term after having successfully given birth. Bekah and Skyler are parents to a seven-year-old son, whose name has not been disclosed.
Moments of Hope and Heartbreak
Despite their previous fertility challenges, Bekah described experiencing “many small and meaningful miracles” during her pregnancy with Kirtland. She noted, “We were so hopeful for our rainbow baby and truly believed this was finally it.” The couple believed they were past the most critical phase of pregnancy when they faced unexpected complications in the second trimester.
“We thought we were in the clear,” she reflected. “But after ongoing complications for the last several months, we still lost her. Our hearts are absolutely shattered, and we are taking things one moment at a time.”
After delivering their daughter, Bekah shared that the drive home from the hospital was particularly poignant. “We passed the temple and were reminded of the eternal promises we hold close. I know this separation is not forever and that we will be with her again. That gives me hope,” she wrote, adding, “But we’re still not OK right now. And that’s OK.”
A Call for Support
In her post, Bekah thanked her followers for their “prayers of strength and support.” She emphasized their appreciation for the messages of love and kindness during this difficult time. “We are not planning to share more right now or talk about details,” she wrote, highlighting the couple’s need for privacy as they navigate their grief.
Bekah Sorensen has a following of over 19,000 on Instagram, where she frequently shares music, including both original compositions and reimagined hymns. In a previous post from March 2025, she explained her motivation for sharing music online, stating she felt inspired to uplift others while conveying her own experiences.
In light of her recent struggles, Bekah took a social media hiatus to focus on her mental health. “I needed a break, a big one,” she admitted. “When music was the very thing offering me joy, sharing my music brought nothing but hurt and backlash. I had to stop.”
She emphasized the importance of prioritizing her faith, family, and mental well-being. “I’ve also re-evaluated how I want to show up here. No more chasing algorithms or trying to meet unrealistic expectations,” she stated. “I’ll share when it feels right, from a place of peace.”
As Bekah and Skyler seek healing through their grief, their story resonates with many facing similar challenges. The couple’s openness about their journey highlights the importance of community support during difficult times.
