Lindsey Buckingham Announces New Solo Album After Fleetwood Mac Split

Lindsey Buckingham is set to release a new solo album, marking his return to music after a five-year hiatus. The former Fleetwood Mac guitarist shared this exciting news in a recent social media post, revealing that the upcoming record is the culmination of 25 years of experience in music production. This album will be his eighth solo project and the first since his 2021 release, which was self-titled.

Buckingham’s new work follows a tumultuous period for the artist, particularly after his departure from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. At the time, his exit generated significant media attention, especially as it led to the band recruiting former Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and Neil Finn to fill his role for their final performances. In March, he was photographed in the studio with drummer Mick Fleetwood, who is currently working on his first album since the band disbanded. Swedish producer Carl Falk, who is collaborating with Fleetwood on this project, described their reunion as “unreal,” marking the first time the two have worked together in seven years.

In addition to his new album, Buckingham has seen the reissue of *Buckingham Nicks*, the influential album he created with former Fleetwood Mac vocalist Stevie Nicks in 1973. This record was crucial in the duo’s eventual recruitment into Fleetwood Mac two years later, leading to a prolific partnership that spanned several decades.
