Medicom Expands Contracts with VA, Now Serves 17 of 18 Regions
Medicom Technologies, Inc. has announced the successful acquisition of new contracts with the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) 10 and VISN 17, marking a significant milestone as the company is now fully contracted with 17 out of the 18 VISNs within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). This development, reported on November 10, 2025, solidifies Medicom’s role in enhancing image exchange capabilities within the United States’ largest integrated health system.
These new agreements will facilitate the electronic, bi-directional exchange of radiology images and reports between Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities and their community partners. This initiative is particularly vital as it supports community care coordination under the Mission Act, providing a modern digital alternative to traditional methods such as the transport of CD-ROMs.
Expanding Access to Care for Veterans
VISN 17 serves nearly 500,000 veterans across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. In contrast, VISN 10 provides care to more than 685,000 veterans throughout Michigan’s lower peninsula, Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Indiana. The new contracts will not only enhance the efficiency of image sharing but will also empower VA staff with advanced search capabilities to locate and retrieve prior medical images from community providers more effectively.
Malcolm Benitz, President of Medicom, emphasized the importance of these developments: “We are proud to support VISN 10, VISN 17, and the VA’s mission. Our team is committed to providing this technology to help VA staff coordinate care with their community partners. This expansion brings numerous new VA Medical Centers and clinics into the network, and it is a testament to our team’s focus on supporting this critical mission.”
