Frank Dunn, Esteemed Builder and Community Leader, Passes Away at 89
Frank Wyatt Dunn, a revered figure in both his professional and personal life, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at the age of 89. His contributions extended beyond mechanical creations; they encompassed building meaningful relationships and nurturing community initiatives. Born on February 18, 1936, Frank’s life was characterized by a commitment to integrity, care, and purpose in all his endeavors.
Legacy in Agriculture and Community Service
Throughout his four-decade career as the general manager of a prominent agronomy research facility, Frank played a pivotal role in advancing sustainable agriculture. His leadership fostered pioneering efforts in selective breeding, aimed at improving crop resilience and yield, which supported countless farmers and agricultural scientists.
In addition to his innovations, including a patented clover harvester in 1978, Frank was dedicated to serving his community. He was a lifelong member of the Lions Club, where he took on various leadership roles, culminating in his position as District Governor in 1991. His service was marked by a profound humility and an unwavering commitment to helping others.
A Life of Love and Family
Frank’s personal life was equally fulfilling. He shared over 64 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marilee Dunn, who passed away just six months prior to him. Their partnership was a foundation of love, joy, and shared purpose, leaving a legacy that their family will cherish forever.
He is survived by his two sons, Mike and David Dunn, his daughter-in-law Cathy, and his grandsons Ryan and Will, along with Ryan’s wife, Jessa. Frank was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first great-grandchild in February 2026, a new life he looked forward to welcoming with warmth and wisdom.
Friends, family, and community members are invited to celebrate Frank’s life on November 25, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Woodland Lion Banquet Hall. This gathering will honor a man who not only built tools and machines but also enriched the lives of those around him. Frank Dunn’s legacy endures in the relationships he nurtured and the impact he made in his community.
