**Duluth’s Chris Langlee Passes Away at 64, Community Mourns**
BREAKING NEWS: Chris (Langer) Langlee, a beloved figure in Duluth, passed away on October 20, 2025, at the age of 64. Surrounded by family, Chris’s peaceful departure has left a profound impact on the community he cherished.
Born on August 23, 1961, Chris was a dedicated member of the Air National Guard, serving for 20 years before retiring as a Master Sergeant on January 31, 2005. His commitment to service was matched only by his passion for his family, sports, and community involvement. Chris spent over a decade working at various organizations, including Enger Park Golf Course and most recently as the Credit and Collections Administrator for the City of Duluth.
Chris was not only a proud veteran but also a sports enthusiast. Known for his impressive skills on the baseball and softball fields, he played varsity baseball for the Denfeld Hunters and was part of several local softball teams, showcasing his talent with the bat. He was a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Wild, often embodying the spirit of a true Minnesotan sportsman.
His family and friends remember him for his infectious humor and love for cooking, often entertaining them with rock and roll music in the background. Chris found his soulmate in Patrice Johnson, marrying her on June 21, 2019. Together, they created a blended family filled with love and laughter.
Chris is survived by his wife Patrice, children Becky (Lincoln) Orlowski, Chase (Braydon) Mallett, Jory Johnson, and Holly Johnson, as well as granddaughter Kyla Johnson. He also leaves behind siblings Jon (Patty) Langlee and Amy (Jay) Sparks, along with many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Cremation Society of Minnesota located at 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth, MN. A celebration of Chris’s life will follow at 2:00 PM with a reception for friends and family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Essentia’s critical care team for their exceptional support during this difficult time. The community mourns the loss of Chris Langlee, whose legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will be deeply missed.
