Urgent: Dallas Funeral Home Worker Dies in Burial Vault Accident
UPDATE: A tragic workplace accident at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas has left one worker dead after a burial vault crushed him. The incident occurred on October 21, 2025, just after 2 p.m., when Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to reports of an employee pinned beneath the heavy structure.
Emergency crews arrived at the funeral home located at 13005 Greenville Ave. to find the man trapped from the waist down. Firefighters employed spreaders and air bags to lift the vault and free the worker, whose serious lower body injuries necessitated immediate transport to the hospital. Despite swift action, officials confirmed the worker succumbed to his injuries shortly after 5 p.m.
The victim has not yet been publicly identified, and the circumstances leading to this horrifying accident remain unclear. Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson, Jason Evans, indicated that the department’s Urban Search and Rescue team was dispatched to assist in this critical situation.
