UPDATE: Pleasant weather is finally returning to Utah this weekend after a week of rain and storms. As of Friday morning, high pressure is pushing out the storm systems, bringing drier and warmer conditions across the state.

Temperatures are beginning the day cold, with valley areas in the 30s to low 40s and higher terrain dipping into the 20s. However, expect a significant warm-up as the sun emerges, with highs reaching the upper 50s to low 60s for most areas. Mountain valleys will peak at around 50 degrees, while southern spots may enjoy temperatures in the mid 60s to low 70s.

This weekend promises to be a delightful opportunity to get outside, with clear to mostly clear skies and daytime highs climbing into the 60s to low 70s. The warmest day is projected to be Sunday, with valley temperatures soaring into the upper 60s and low 70s, and warmer locations possibly hitting the mid to upper 70s.

Sports fans attending the highly anticipated University of Utah vs. BYU game on Saturday will find the weather cooperating. Bring a jacket, as temperatures are expected to hover in the 50s under clear skies.

Looking ahead, meteorologists are monitoring a new weather system that may bring some moisture from the northwest starting Sunday night into Monday morning. Current forecasts suggest that most of the precipitation will remain north, but light showers could impact the northernmost regions. This system will introduce cooler air, dropping highs from the 70s on Sunday to the 50s on Monday.
