UPDATE: A dramatic police chase has culminated in the arrest of 50-year-old Michael Lee White in Scottsboro, Alabama, following a series of reckless actions that included crashing into a drive-thru stand and fleeing on foot. White now faces multiple felony charges, including Felony Attempt to Elude Arrest, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, and Theft of Property 4th Degree.

The incident unfolded around 9:00 AM on Saturday when police received reports of a theft near the 24000 Block of Hwy. 72. Officers quickly located White driving a silver GMC truck towing a 44-foot trailer. Upon attempting to pull him over, chaos ensued as White allegedly crashed into a drive-thru structure, plowed through a flower bed, and damaged a business sign before fleeing the scene.

Authorities from multiple agencies joined the pursuit, which extended approximately 25 miles through several cities. As the chase escalated, White’s vehicle began to smoke, forcing him to pull over. However, he continued to evade capture by fleeing into a nearby wooded area.

In a swift response, law enforcement was able to apprehend White. Officers also recovered some of the stolen items from his vehicle, ensuring that the situation was resolved without injury to officers or civilians.

This incident highlights the swift and coordinated efforts of local law enforcement in a high-stakes pursuit, emphasizing the risks and dangers involved in such situations. As the investigation continues, White remains in the Jackson County Jail awaiting further legal proceedings.
