URGENT UPDATE: Sound Transit has just announced significant changes to Link light rail service to accommodate essential construction work at Pinehurst Station starting March 2. These alterations will impact train schedules during late-night hours, drawing immediate attention from commuters.
Beginning March 2, and again on March 6, train services on the 1 Line and 2 Line will be affected after 11 p.m.. Specifically, 2 Line trains will turn back at Northgate Station, while 1 Line trains will share tracks between Northgate and Shoreline South. This disruption is crucial for ongoing construction efforts to enhance the service for future riders.
In addition, from March 3 to March 5, Link light rail service will be replaced by bus transportation between Northgate and Lynnwood during late-night hours due to extended monthly maintenance work. During this period, 1 Line trains will continue to operate between Federal Way and Northgate, while 2 Line trains will run from Downtown Redmond to South Bellevue and from the International District/Chinatown to Northgate.
Additionally, on the weekend of March 21 and March 22, buses will replace 1 Line and 2 Line trains between Capitol Hill and Stadium stations as part of planned work in the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel.
This maintenance is part of Sound Transit’s ongoing efforts to ensure safety and reliability as they prepare for major events, including the upcoming World Cup.
