Elisabetta Franchi showcased her Fall 2026 collection in Milan, drawing inspiration from the rich history of her new venue, the stunning Palazzo Acerbi. This 17th-century Lombard Baroque palace, known locally as the Devil’s House, features a striking fresco-lined staircase and has housed fashion luminaries like Valentino and Krizia in the past.

Franchi, who established her brand in 2012, has emerged as a notable force in the luxury fashion scene. The collection, infused with a darkly theatrical and witchy-Victorian mood, captures the essence of Milan’s architectural grandeur. With Milan being a fashion capital, Franchi’s designs stand out in the city’s vibrant social landscape, particularly her slinky cocktail dresses that have become a popular choice for soirées.

The collection pays homage to the palazzo’s intriguing history, specifically referencing a cannonball that became lodged in its facade during the 1848 First Italian War of Independence. This dramatic historical element inspired the collection’s gothic aesthetic. Eveningwear featured bustier dresses with exaggerated hip-to-waist ratios, reminiscent of the corseted silhouettes of the 19th century.

Franchi’s designs included wool coats and structured jackets, paired with wide, glossy vinyl belts that accentuated the waist. Accessories also played a significant role, with standout pieces such as pointy pumps and over-the-knee boots designed to resemble corsetry. The collection balanced its darker elements with lighter ones, featuring ruffled blouses and tiered maxiskirts that flowed gracefully as models walked the runway.

Feathers were a recurring motif, adding an ethereal touch to the presentation. From delicate strands suspended from the ceiling to tufted mini-crinis and shimmering golden accents, these elements enhanced the overall theatricality of the collection.

“The devil before was an angel,” Franchi remarked, encapsulating the transformative nature of her designs. This collection not only reflects her artistic vision but also serves as a celebration of Italian heritage and history.

As the fashion world anticipates the upcoming season, Franchi’s Fall 2026 collection stands as a testament to her innovative approach and deep connection to the cultural narratives that shape her work.
