Beloved Community Figure Jean A. Bergman Passes Away at 84
Jean A. Bergman, aged 84, passed away on December 16, 2025, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Originally from Acme, Michigan, she spent her later years in Florida and was a cherished member of the Inver Grove Heights community. Her family includes children Ken (Lisa Blee) Bergman and Jeff (Jenny) Bergman, along with grandchildren Corey (Maddie), Tess (William), Max (Peyton), Devin, and Sophia, and a great-grandchild, Callen.
Bergman’s life was marked by her dedication to family and community. She was a strong advocate for charitable causes, particularly those supporting cancer research. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, reflecting her commitment to helping others facing similar struggles.
Career and Community Engagement
Jean Bergman pursued her education at Michigan State University and went on to have a successful career in administration. She spent a significant portion of her professional life with the Inver Grove Heights Police Department, where she was known for her efficiency and dedication.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jean was passionate about arts and crafts, often creating items to share with family and friends. Her creativity extended to various charitable organizations, where she donated her handcrafted pieces, embodying her generous spirit.
Family Legacy
Jean is remembered fondly for her love of golf and the various creative activities she enjoyed with her family. She is survived by her brother-in-law Ron (Leslie) Bergman of Washington and sister-in-law Judy (Andy) Weber of North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Bergman, her parents Gilbert and Leota Mannor, and brothers Jack and Richard Mannor, alongside sister-in-law Joyce Mannor. Jean’s passing marks a significant loss for those who knew her, but her legacy of love, creativity, and community service will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
While no formal services will be held, her family invites those who wish to honor her memory to support the American Cancer Society, ensuring that her spirit of giving continues to flourish.
