UPDATE: Mary A. Yurasits, aged 94, of Northampton, has passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at Fellowship Community in Whitehall. This news comes as family and friends mourn the loss of a beloved matriarch, known for her warmth and dedication to her community.

Born on November 6, 1931, in Kreidersville, Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Loikits) Stutzenberger. She is remembered for her unwavering spirit and nurturing presence, having been preceded in death by her husband, John Yurasits, in 2024. Their legacy lives on through their children and grandchildren, who are profoundly affected by her passing.

Mary was a proud graduate of Northampton High School, where she was an active member of the school’s Eight Balls. She spent many years as a dedicated secretary at Novagratz Tax Office, contributing to the community she loved. A devout member of Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Mary found strength and support in her faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Lorene Kahler (Randy), Rochelle Reice (Richard), Sharon Urbanczuk (Roman), and son Gary Yurasits (Sherri), along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Her family also includes her sister, Rose Laury, as well as several nieces and nephews. Tragically, a son, John, along with two grandchildren and a nephew, preceded her in death.

Services for Mary will take place on Saturday, January 17th, with calling hours from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, located at 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. The arrangements are being managed by Reichel Funeral Home in Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the church or the Alzheimer’s Association in loving memory of Mary, honoring her legacy of compassion and care.
