New Jersey Wrestlers Shine in National Rankings as 2026 Begins

As the calendar turned to 2026, New Jersey’s top wrestlers have solidified their reputations on the national stage. Several athletes have already made significant impacts at prestigious tournaments such as the Beast of the East, Sam Cali, and Powerade. With more high-profile events like Escape the Rock approaching, the excitement surrounding the 2025-26 wrestling season continues to build.

The latest rankings, updated as of 5:00 p.m. on December 31, 2025, showcase the prowess of New Jersey’s grapplers across various weight classes. Notably, Jayden James from Delbarton School stands out as a top competitor. He holds an impressive ranking of 3 in the MatScouts and 3 in the FloWrestling rankings among senior wrestlers.

In the 106-pound weight class, Paul Kenny from Christian Brothers Academy ranks 16 and 17, respectively. Freshman Jack Anello from Blair Academy has also made a name for himself, holding a ranking of 14 in MatScouts and 12 in FloWrestling.

Moving up to 113 pounds, Sean Kenny from Christian Brothers Academy has earned a spot in the national rankings, coming in at NR and 5. His teammate, Killian Coluccio, ranks 19 and 12 in the same weight class.

At 120 pounds, senior Johnathon McGinty from St. Joseph (Mont.) maintains his position with rankings of 5 across both platforms. He is joined by fellow competitors Mikey Batista from Blair and Cam Sontz from Delbarton, who are ranked 8 and 9, respectively.

The 126-pound division sees Paul Kenny again making headlines, as he is ranked 3 and 3. Sophomore Tommy Marchetti from Delbarton and Finnegan O’Brien from Blair are also showing promise in this category with rankings of 19 and 25.

The 132-pound weight class features Vincenzo Anello from Blair, ranked 5 in MatScouts and 14 in FloWrestling. Senior Sammy Spaulding from Camden Catholic and Anthony DiAndrea from Watchung Hills have also secured their places in the rankings.

Looking at the 144-pound weight class, Bobby Duffy from Christian Brothers Academy is ranked 10 and 7. His peers, Anthony DePaul of Delsea and Ryan DeGeorge of Delbarton, are also contenders, with rankings of 21 and NR.

At the 150-pound level, Sonny Amato from Rumson-Fair Haven is ranked 10 and 7.

The 165-pound category features the returning champion, Jayden James, retaining his top position with rankings of 1 across both platforms. Barry Norman from Blair and Joey Canova from Bergen Catholic are also in the mix with rankings of 22 and NR.

In the 175-pound division, Gabe Logan from Delbarton ranks 7 and 11. Senior Santino Rodriguez from Don Bosco Prep and Brock Oizerowitz from Christian Brothers have also made their presence felt with rankings of 10 and 20.

In the heavyweight class of 285 pounds, Cristian Alvarez from St. Joseph (Mont.) is ranked 8 and 6. His competitors, Mateo Vinciguerra from Woodstown and Cael Mielnik from Blair, follow closely with rankings of 17 and 25.

With the season ongoing and several tournaments on the horizon, the excitement for New Jersey wrestling continues to grow. Fans and analysts alike will be watching closely as these talented athletes strive to elevate their standings and achieve their goals in the national rankings.
