Vanderbilt Nearly at Full Strength for ReliaQuest Bowl Against Iowa

Vanderbilt University’s football team is preparing for the ReliaQuest Bowl against Iowa, set for December 31, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. CT. The Commodores will enter the game with a strong lineup, with only tight end Eli Stowers opting out to declare for the NFL Draft. This decision comes amid a growing trend of players choosing to sit out bowl games, but the Commodores are bucking that trend.

Coach Clark Lea has welcomed players who intend to transfer to continue participating in the bowl game. Players Remaining Active Despite Transfer Intentions

Several Vanderbilt players have announced their plans to enter the transfer portal but will still participate in the ReliaQuest Bowl. Offensive lineman Cooper Starks, who has played in nine games this season, confirmed his intention to play despite his transfer announcement. Similarly, offensive lineman Misael Sandoval and edge rusher Jailen Ruth are expected to suit up for the bowl game, adding depth to the Commodores’ roster.

Both backup quarterbacks, Drew Dickey and Jeremy St-Hilaire, have also declared their intention to transfer but will not play in the bowl due to injuries sustained during the latter half of the season. Defensive player Duncan MacDonald, who has not appeared in any games this season, is also set to enter the transfer portal.
