Beloved Walnutport Veteran Gregg A. Henritzy Dies at 78

BREAKING: Gregg A. Henritzy, a cherished veteran and longtime resident of Walnutport, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2025, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. The news of his death has sent shockwaves through the community, where he was known for his dedication to family and service.

Henritzy, 78, was the devoted husband of the late Susan S. Henritzy, with whom he shared an enduring marriage of over 50 years until her passing in June 2023. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Henry and Lois (Horner) Henritzy.

A proud U.S. Navy veteran, Henritzy honorably served from 1965 to 1968. Following his military service, he earned an associate’s degree in electronics technology, embarking on a successful career as a maintenance electrician. He was well-known for his work at the Sam Adams brewery, previously known as Crowder, F&M Schaeffer Brewing, and Mack Printing.

Henritzy is survived by his son, Steven Henritzy, and several siblings, including Kirk Henritzy and wife Kim of Slatington, Erik Henritzy of Walnutport, and sisters Kathy Fragnito of Slatington, Debra Olewine of Walnutport, Lory Kralik of Slatedale, Jody Remaley of Slatedale, and Tanya Marlatt of Kunkletown. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

The family has announced that services will be held privately, allowing them to honor his memory in a personal way. The Harding Funeral Home of Slatington is handling the arrangements, ensuring that Henritzy’s legacy is preserved with respect.
