Steven J. Blumenthal, 63, Passes Away; Funeral Set for January 2

BREAKING: Steven J. Blumenthal, aged 63, of New Britain, CT, has sadly passed away on December 22, 2025, leaving a profound impact on his family and community. Known for his passionate support of the New York Yankees and Washington Redskins, Steven’s life was enriched by his love for motorcycles and his close bond with his mother, Marcia Blumenthal.

Born on June 4, 1962, in Hartford, CT, Steven lived in New Britain for the last 30 years. He was a cherished son of the late Alfred “Apples” and Marcia Blumenthal (Budkofsky). Steven’s family described him as a devoted individual whose relationships with loved ones were deeply rooted. He is survived by his fiancée, Catherine Falleti; brother, Eric Blumenthal, and his wife, Olga; along with his sisters-in-law, Laurie and Kimberly Blumenthal.

The family also mourns the loss of Steven’s brothers, Mark and Sol Blumenthal, as well as celebrating his legacy through his nieces and nephews, including Alfred (wife Jessica), Joshua (wife Alyssa), Ashley, Aaron, Leah, and Anthony Blumenthal, along with his great-niece, Ellery, and great-nephews, Lawson and Harrison Blumenthal.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Piaterer Verein Society Cemetery on Jordan Lane Extension, Wethersfield, CT. Friends and family are invited to honor Steven’s memory by attending the service and are encouraged to consider planting a living memorial or sending flowers in his memory.

Steven will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the memories shared by his family and friends. Stay tuned for updates as the community comes together to celebrate his life.
