Passengers aboard a Frontier Airlines flight from Atlanta to San Juan faced an unexpected diversion to Miami due to a potential fuel leak. The incident occurred on December 25, 2025, prompting the captain to make an emergency landing at Miami International Airport (MIA), where the aircraft was met by multiple fire trucks from the Miami-Dade Airport Fire Rescue (MDFR) team.

The flight, designated as F9 2082 and operating an Airbus A320neo with registration N301FR, departed from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) at 11:01 am local time, approximately 41 minutes later than scheduled. The aircraft reached its cruising altitude of 34,000 feet shortly after passing over Jacksonville, Florida. It had just crossed over the Bahamian island of Grand Abaco, around one hour and 20 minutes into its journey, when the potential fuel leak was detected. Acting with caution, the captain opted to return to the nearest diversion airport in the United States, Miami.

While the exact cause of the emergency landing remains unconfirmed, passengers were safely transported to the terminal after arriving under emergency conditions at MIA approximately 43 minutes later. The aircraft taxied to Gate F18, where emergency crews conducted a thorough inspection to ascertain the nature of the leak. Passengers disembarked shortly after 6:00 pm local time.

Frontier Airlines arranged for alternate travel for the stranded passengers. They were re-accommodated onto another Airbus A320neo, registration N328FR, which departed from Miami at 8:23 pm and arrived in San Juan at 11:24 pm local time, more than six hours behind the original schedule.
