City Rescue Mission Prepares to Serve 1,500 Christmas Meals
UPDATE: The City Rescue Mission in Fort Wayne is urgently preparing to serve 1,500 meals at its annual Christmas banquet on December 25. With just days remaining, volunteers are rallying to ensure that those in need receive a warm meal and a sense of community this holiday season.
This year’s event is more critical than ever as the ongoing economic challenges have left many families struggling. The City Rescue Mission aims to provide not only food but also hope and support to individuals facing hardship. Over 200 volunteers are expected to join forces, cooking and serving meals to those who might otherwise go without this Christmas.
The banquet will take place at the City Rescue Mission’s facility, located at 301 West Superior Street, Fort Wayne. Doors will open at 11:00 AM, allowing guests to enjoy a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and camaraderie. Meals will be served until supplies last, ensuring that as many people as possible can experience this special day.
In previous years, the City Rescue Mission has successfully served thousands, making it a cornerstone of community support during the holidays. This year, officials anticipate an even greater turnout as the need for assistance grows.
“We are committed to making this Christmas special for everyone,” said a spokesperson for the City Rescue Mission.
“Every meal served is a step towards restoring hope and dignity to those we serve.”
As the event approaches, community members are encouraged to contribute by volunteering their time or donating food items. The City Rescue Mission is also accepting monetary donations to help cover the costs of the banquet and other ongoing services.
