Community Remembers S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia, 86, Business Leader

S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia, a prominent figure in the Lake Elmo community and former St. Paul City Councilman, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 86. He is remembered for his extensive contributions to local business and civic affairs, as well as his dedication to family and friends.

Nicosia’s legacy is marked by his service on the St. Paul Port Authority and his ownership of several successful businesses. He was a well-known personality in the area, admired for his commitment to public service and community engagement. Preceded in death by his children, Bobby, Dawn, and Kristi, as well as his sister, Tanny Armstrong, he leaves behind a devoted family.

His wife of 66 years, Roxanne Nicosia, and daughter, Lynne, mourn his passing, along with grandchildren Bob Pasiuk (Laura), Andrea Perzichilli (Marco), Chris Pasiuk (Alison), Sonnie Mason, Nick Montanari (Meredith), Nate Montanari (Corionna), and Thomas Nicosia. Nicosia was also a proud great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren, and he is survived by his sister, Debbie Armstrong, and brother, John.

Nicosia’s passions included spending time at his cabin, traveling, golfing, and watching NASCAR races. He cherished moments spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories that will surely resonate within the community.

In recognition of the care he received during his illness, the family expressed their gratitude to Lakeview Hospice and Care Apparent for their compassionate support. They also appreciated the many visitors who provided love and assistance during his final days.

A memorial service for S. Chris Nicosia is scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The service will take place at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN. A visitation will occur one hour prior to the service.

The community’s outpouring of support highlights the impact Nicosia made throughout his life, both in business and public service. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for the warmth and kindness he shared with those around him.
