Brian M. Hayes, Beloved Community Leader, Passes Away at 68
URGENT UPDATE: Brian M. Hayes, a prominent figure in Berks County and owner of Brian M. Hayes & Associates Inc., passed away on December 1, 2025, at the age of 68. His death was confirmed early this morning, leaving a significant void in the community he served for decades.
Hayes, who celebrated 46 years of marriage to his beloved wife, Linda A. (Natale) Hayes, was known for his unwavering dedication to both his family and his local community. Born in Erie, PA, he graduated from Strong Vincent High School and became a respected business owner in the insurance and investment sector.
The impact of Brian’s contributions extended far beyond his professional life. He was an avid golfer, frequently seen at local clubs such as Moselem Springs and Mid South Country Clubs. From 1993 to 2020, he owned and operated the Exeter Cardinals Baseball Club, significantly influencing amateur baseball in the area. His legacy includes serving as past president of The Reading Association of Life Underwriters and holding a qualifying and life membership with the Million Dollar Round Table.
Brian is survived by his wife Linda, their children—Brian M. Hayes II, Brent Hayes, and Brooke Majano, along with her husband Jose—and his granddaughter, Avery. He also leaves behind his granddog Mahomes, brothers James and Bruce Hayes, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Hayes.
Visitation is set for Monday, December 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lutz Funeral Home, Inc., located at 2100 Perkiomen Avenue, Reading, PA 19606. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Brian’s honor to the Ronald McDonald House or the American Heart Association.
